Thanks for the info. I only wish my tech skills were good enough so I could install this. I have an account at siteground.com and barely was able to figure out how to get my moodle installed. We are a small ESL school located inside the University of Texas, but don't get much support from the university. I am a teacher who is not as tech savvy as I thought. Is there anyway you would consider throwing mahara up on my site? It took me hours to figure out how to install moodle. I would be eternally grateful if you could help me.

Thanks,

Tony

Final fix (and it worked)!
I left the layout container transparent and instead coloured and cornered the center column and sidebar individually.
The footer had me scratching my head for a while as I couldn't get a margin in between the bottom of the body and the footer. Eventually fixed it by placing a div tag below the footer and dragging it up behind the footer with a negative margin (a modified version of the atahualpa fix that allows for full width footers on a restricted body).
Now very happy as it really does replicate the Twitter theme quite well.

Okay, fix one - by moving the logo into the backgroung image and using a transparent png to make it still clickable I can get the logo to appear on ie6.
This isn't a great fix though as the logo is now fixed with background and doesn't scroll with the content like it should.

You can't pull a double negative margin on ie6 and have the image still display...
